Talin Website Revamp
This was a project during my internship at Talin Modular Office Furniture Pvt. Ltd.
This project involved leading the complete revamp of Talin’s website using WordPress and the Elementor plugin. My goal was to modernise the interface while preserving the brand’s established aesthetic and identity. The revamp included designing new product pages, refining the site structure, and enhancing the overall user experience through cohesive layouts and improved functionality. Alongside web design, I created product animations using Adobe After Effects, with base graphics and elements designed in Illustrator, and applied custom CSS and HTML for certain elements to achieve the desired design. This project strengthened my technical, creative, and leadership skills as I coordinated with IT, render artists, photographers, and the lead designer to bring a cohesive, refreshed digital presence to life.
Process Overview
The revamp began with a thorough study of Talin’s existing website and brand design language to ensure that every design decision aligned with the company’s visual identity and values. While most of the basic structure of the website was retained, the focus was on modernising and optimising the layout to improve navigation, consistency, and user experience. A new, flexible page format was developed to ensure cohesion across the site, with content-specific variations based on the information needs of each product category.
Each new product launch involved designing and integrating dedicated pages, refining the visual hierarchy, and ensuring uniformity in typography, imagery, and interactions. To execute the design, I used WordPress with Elementor and explored several new plugins that enhanced both design flexibility and site functionality; additionally, I learned and experimented with new software features. I also implemented custom CSS and HTML for specific elements to achieve the intended design. Beyond design, I coordinated with IT for server-related updates and managed collaboration with render artists, photographers, and the lead designer, strengthening my team coordination and project management skills throughout the process. This experience deepened my understanding of cohesive brand communication while strengthening my technical expertise and leadership skills through cross-functional coordination.
Notable Pages and Elements
Product Pages
Product Menu Pages
Timeline
A visually dynamic timeline created using a plugin, designed to showcase key milestones. The mobile version adapts to display one event at a time for an optimised viewing experience.
Dropdown Main Menu
The dropdown sub-menu under ‘Products’ was created using the ElementsKit Megamenu plugin, enhancing navigation clarity and user experience.
Mobile Interface
The mobile interface was carefully designed for responsive adaptability, offering an intuitive browsing experience that mirrors the desktop site’s structure and style.
Animations
Animations played a key role in enhancing the user experience and engaging visitors with Talin’s products. Using Illustrator to create base graphics and elements, I designed and implemented 15+ interactive 2D animations in Adobe After Effects, a new software for me. These animations were integrated into the homepage as play-on-hover interactions, with custom CSS/HTML used to implement the hover behaviour, insert the animation, set a cover image, and link each product to its respective page. The animations visually highlighted each product, added motion and life to the website, and created an engaging, interactive browsing experience that guided users seamlessly through Talin’s diverse product range.
